Pastoral Ministrations of the Priest, Second Edition

The fruit of 15 years of compilation by the Executive Director of The Living Church, the Rev. Dr. Matthew S.C. Olver, this updated, second edition of Pastoral Ministrations will become the standard for anyone undertaking liturgical pastoral ministry.

Drawing on the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, the additional materials from the Episcopal Church, and many traditional sources, this 500+ page volume provides a comprehensive collection of prayers for all sorts of pastoral needs when visiting the sick (including passages of Scripture and selections from the Psalter), prayers related to pregnancy and childbirth, and a wealth of material for Last Rites and the end of life. The volume also includes prayers related to deliverance and liberation from evil (which should be used in consultation with the bishop).

In the tradition of Anglican priest manuals, this volume also includes private devotional material for clergy, the Daily Office, prayers related to the celebration of the Eucharist, prayers before and after pastoral ministry, and blessings of all sorts.

The updated second edition will be available in April 2025 and includes a soft, leather cover with ribbon bookmarks, gilt edging and completely redesigned pages.
